It would be useful if LOVD could create RSS 2.0-compliant XML files recording changes to the data in the database. The categories of changes might be recorded: 1) addition of new unique variants, 2) additional patients with existing variants, 3) any other corrections or changes to patients or mutations. These could, perhaps, be incorporated into a single file, or three separate files.

Would you mind, if I'll make that an Atom 1.0 XML file?

My current RSS feed which I edit using mirabyte Feed Writer is RSS 2.0. I'm aware of Atom 1.0 but do not know what the full consequences might by a change from RSS to Atom. I certainly do not want to have to provide both RSS and Atom feeds to cater for people who cannot read Atom feeds easily for whatever reason.

Ideally, I'd like to retain some control over the look and feel of the feed and still be able to do some limited manual editing. Perhaps some pre-release test versions are needed for me to try out.
