DetailsThere are several fields in the variants and patients tables in LOVD which contain a forward slash in their names: e.g. Variant/Frequency and Patient/Phenotype/Disease. I have recently been accessing the data (using a Windows XP computer) in the LOVD database with applications that connect using ODBC with the MySQL Connector. The presence of the forward slashes in some field names means that these applications cannot access these tables.
In a future version or build of LOVD could the field names with slashes be changed (e.g. to Variant_Frequency and Patient_Phenotype_Disease) to accommodate other methods for accessing the data. This is of importance for the development of tools on other platforms to visualise the data in alternative ways. |

Altough I believe this is more like a bug in the other application (because it\'s not able to work with valid MySQL column names), could you tell me what characters are allowed by this software that you use?
